Steven Guthrie –
I bought this a few months ago and now have just been able to test it out on our long trip for the Winter from Oregon to Palm Springs CA.
I am so impressed, I couldn’t be more pleased.
My reason for wanting to put one of these in was that when I went up a steep hill 5% – 6% the Motorhome kept shifting down to third then up to fourth but it wouldn’t hold fourth gear so I was constantly shifting up and down and not able to get above 40mph.
I have a 2006 Tiffin Phaeton with a CAT C7 350hp and I tow a 2007 Chevy Tahoe, which weighs 6500lb behind. The figure stated here are for this rig with the tow vehicle attached
With this module it holds fourth gear and pulls up the hills great 45mph in most cases sometimes 50mph and as a bonus my average MPG has gone from 7.1 to 8.7. If you dont know the drive from Oregon to Palm Springs there are mountain passes both at the Oregon Border (siskiyou pass) and going from Bakersfield to Barstow both have 6% grades that are miles long and the average mileage of 8.7 includes these mountains. On the flat I was getting 9.5 mpg .
My best friend travels with me and has a 2010 Allegro Bus with a 450hp Cummins and I pull away from him on the hills now, before he out pulled me. Now he want one for his.
